After a storm, you call the owner
When a hurricane, tropical storm or summer squall rolls through the Lowcountry, you call the owner directly. He comes out himself, gets on your roof, and tells you honestly what he finds, even if the answer is that you don’t need a claim at all.
- Free storm damage inspection, with photos of everything we find
- Emergency tarping and temporary repairs to stop leaks fast
- A clear written report and estimate you can give your insurance company
- We meet your adjuster on site and walk the roof with them
- Repairs or replacement done by our own local crew, backed by our 2-year workmanship warranty
How we help with your insurance claim
- Free inspectionWe check shingles, flashing, vents, gutters and decking for wind, hail and water damage, and photograph it all.
- Straight answerIf the damage is minor and cheaper to repair than your deductible, we’ll tell you.
- DocumentationYou get a written report with photos and measurements to file with your insurance company.
- Adjuster meetingWe meet your adjuster at the house so nothing gets missed, and we answer their questions directly.
- The workOnce your insurance company approves the claim, our crew does the repair or replacement, and the owner checks the finished job himself.
Roof leaking right now?
Call (843) 890-8833. We’ll get your roof covered to stop the water, then come back to do the permanent repair.
A note on our role: we’re roofers, not public adjusters. We inspect, document the damage and explain what the repair involves. Your insurance company and its adjuster decide what the claim covers, and you stay in control of your claim.
Local, and here to stay
We’re not storm chasers. Southeastern is based right here in Mount Pleasant, and we’ll still be here after the storm passes, standing behind our work.
Signs of storm damage to look for
- Missing, lifted or creased shingles, or shingles in your yard
- Bent or loose flashing, vents or ridge caps
- Granules from shingles collecting in gutters or at downspouts
- Water stains on ceilings or walls, or a damp smell in the attic
- Dented gutters, downspouts or metal roof panels after hail
Many of these can’t be seen from the ground. Don’t climb up yourself, especially on a wet roof. A free inspection is the safe way to know.
Storm damage questions
Does homeowners insurance cover roof storm damage?
Most policies cover sudden damage from wind, hail and falling trees, but not wear and tear or an old roof failing on its own. On the coast, wind and hail are often covered by a separate wind policy (such as the SC Wind & Hail Underwriting Association), and hurricane damage usually has its own deductible, often a percentage of your home’s insured value. Your policy decides what’s covered, so check it or ask your agent.
Should I call my insurance company or a roofer first?
You can do both. Most policies require you to report a loss promptly, so don’t wait long. A free inspection from us gives you photos and a written report of the damage, and if the repair costs less than your deductible, you’ll know that too.
How long do I have to file a claim in South Carolina?
It depends on your policy, so check yours, but don’t wait. Report damage as soon as you can. Delays can make a claim harder and let small leaks turn into bigger damage.
